Job Title and Description: Sous Chef – Pan Asian Cuisine

OZEN Reserve Bolifushi is currently seeking a talented Sous Chef specializing in Pan Asian cuisine to join its culinary team. This role is ideal for an experienced culinary professional passionate about Chinese, Thai, and Southeast Asian cooking styles, who thrives in a fast-paced, luxury resort environment.

As Sous Chef, you will play a key role in delivering exceptional dining experiences by crafting authentic, high-quality Pan Asian dishes that delight guests. Key Responsibilities

As the Sous Chef – Pan Asian Cuisine, you will be responsible for:

  • Assisting the Executive Chef in menu planning, recipe development, and daily kitchen operations

  • Preparing and cooking authentic Chinese, Thai, and Southeast Asian dishes with consistent quality

  • Managing inventory control, ordering supplies, and monitoring food costs to optimize kitchen efficiency

  • Ensuring compliance with strict food safety and hygiene standards

  • Supervising kitchen staff, providing training and guidance to maintain high culinary standards

  • Collaborating with other departments to ensure smooth service delivery and guest satisfaction

  • Maintaining a clean, organized, and safe kitchen environment

  • Innovating new dishes and techniques to keep the menu fresh and exciting


Qualifications and Skills Required

To excel in this luxury resort job, candidates should meet the following criteria:

  • Diploma or degree in Culinary Arts or equivalent qualification

  • Minimum 4 years’ experience in a five-star luxury property, preferably in a similar Sous Chef capacity

  • Specialized knowledge of Chinese, Thai, and Southeast Asian cooking styles and cuisine

  • Fluent in English and Mandarin to facilitate communication with the diverse team and guests

  • Extensive experience with various cooking techniques, food preparation methods, and culinary styles

  • Proficient in inventory management, supply ordering, and food cost control

  • Ability to work efficiently and calmly in a high-pressure, fast-paced kitchen environment

  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills to foster teamwork

  • Strong understanding of food safety, health, and sanitation standards

  • Experience working in a remote island or resort setting is highly advantageous
