🧭 Position Available: Duty Manager

Velassaru Maldives is currently hiring for the position of Duty Manager — a vital leadership role within the Front Office department. This is an exciting opportunity to work at a five-star island resort and take on responsibilities that directly impact guest satisfaction and the smooth operation of the front office.

As the Duty Manager, you will serve as a senior team member overseeing daily operations and supervising staff. You will be instrumental in managing guest relations, handling escalated concerns, and ensuring service excellence across the board. This position requires a hands-on, proactive leader with a strong background in hotel operations and the confidence to guide a diverse team.

💼 Key Responsibilities

✅ Guest Experience and Engagement

Ensure that guests receive a warm and personalized experience from the moment they arrive until departure.
Engage with in-house guests daily to assess comfort levels and identify any unmet needs.
Provide tailored service recovery when issues arise, and follow through with resolution prior to guest departure.

✅ Team Leadership and Training

Assist in managing the Front Office team by overseeing daily tasks, scheduling, and performance monitoring.
Identify training gaps and propose improvement plans to the Front Office Manager.
Implement formal training sessions to maintain high standards of service and operational consistency.

✅ Operational Oversight

Manage and oversee the accurate processing of guest accounts, billing, and booking coordination.
Ensure all procedures and checklists are being followed meticulously to maintain service quality.
Coordinate with other resort departments to ensure a seamless guest journey throughout their stay.

✅ VIP Guest Handling and Special Requests

Monitor the daily VIP guest list and ensure their preferences and expectations are met.
Address any VIP concerns directly and ensure follow-up communication is conducted personally.

✅ Excursion and Experience Coordination

Supervise and manage all excursion-related guest activities in coordination with relevant departments.
Propose and design unique guest experiences in collaboration with the activities, culinary, and wellness teams.

🎓 Candidate Requirements and Qualifications

To be considered for the Duty Manager position at Velassaru Maldives, applicants must meet the following criteria:

Minimum Two (2) Years of Experience in a similar role within a luxury 5-star resort or hotel.
Proficiency in Opera (or Fidelio) CMS & PMS, along with strong knowledge of Microsoft Office applications including Word and Excel.
Demonstrated leadership and team management skills, with the ability to lead by example in a high-pressure, multicultural work environment.
Fluent in spoken and written English. Proficiency in an additional European language will be considered an advantage.
Strong conflict resolution and problem-solving abilities, especially in guest-facing situations.
Passionate about delivering excellence and exceeding guest expectations through proactive service.
