Job Opportunity: Chef De Partie – Staff Canteen (Maldivians Only)

Role Overview

We are looking for an experienced Chef De Partie – Staff Canteen to oversee the preparation of meals for our staff members. This is a crucial role within the culinary team, ensuring that the resort’s employees receive high-quality, nutritious, and well-balanced meals every day. As a Chef De Partie, you will be responsible for managing daily kitchen operations, maintaining hygiene standards, and creating delicious Maldivian dishes that cater to a diverse workforce.

This position is open exclusively to Maldivian nationals, allowing local talent to contribute their culinary expertise to one of the leading resorts in the country.


Key Responsibilities

  • Food Preparation & Cooking: Prepare and cook high-quality meals for staff members, ensuring a variety of well-balanced, nutritious dishes are available daily.
  • Maldivian Cuisine Expertise: Showcase authentic Maldivian flavors while also incorporating international dishes to suit diverse dietary preferences.
  • Kitchen Management: Supervise and coordinate the activities of kitchen staff to ensure smooth day-to-day operations in the staff canteen.
  • Menu Planning: Assist in planning weekly menus that provide variety and meet dietary needs, keeping meals exciting and flavorful.
  • Quality Control: Ensure that all food is prepared according to hygiene and safety standards, maintaining consistency in taste and presentation.
  • Stock & Inventory Management: Monitor kitchen supplies and place orders as needed to ensure the availability of fresh ingredients.
  • Hygiene & Safety Compliance: Follow HACCP and food safety guidelines to maintain a clean and sanitary kitchen environment.
  • Collaboration: Work closely with the Executive Chef and other team members to improve meal options and enhance the dining experience for staff.
  • Waste Management: Implement strategies to minimize food waste and contribute to the resort’s sustainability initiatives.

Qualifications & Experience

Experience: Proven experience as a Chef De Partie or in a similar role, preferably within a Maldives resort or luxury hospitality setting.
Culinary Skills: Strong knowledge of Maldivian cuisine and the ability to prepare traditional dishes with authenticity and finesse.
Leadership Abilities: Ability to effectively manage a kitchen team, delegate tasks, and maintain smooth operations.
Passion for Hospitality: A deep understanding of guest and staff satisfaction, ensuring every meal is prepared with care and dedication.
Hygiene & Safety Certifications: Applicants with HACCP qualifications and a culinary diploma from a recognized institution will be given preference.
