Jalboot Maldives is currently seeking an experienced and passionate Assistant Director – Watersports & Diving to join its leadership team. This senior role is ideal for a qualified diving professional with proven experience in managing dive centers and watersports operations within a luxury resort environment.
The Assistant Director – Watersports & Diving will play a key role in overseeing daily operations, ensuring safety compliance, maintaining equipment standards, and delivering exceptional guest experiences. Key Responsibilities
The Assistant Director – Watersports & Diving will be responsible for the effective management and smooth operation of all diving and watersports activities. Key responsibilities include:
- Overseeing daily dive center and watersports operations, ensuring safety, efficiency, and high service standards.
- Supervising, training, and motivating instructors, guides, and boat crew members.
- Ensuring all diving, watersports, and boating activities comply with PADI standards, company procedures, and local regulations.
- Managing and maintaining diving equipment, water sports gear, boats, and safety equipment.
- Assisting with guest engagement, activity briefings, and personalized experience planning.
- Handling guest feedback and resolving operational or service issues in a timely and professional manner.
- Supporting revenue generation through effective upselling of activities and packages.
- Monitoring environmental practices and promoting marine conservation awareness among guests and staff.
Qualifications and Skills Required
To be considered for this role, candidates must meet the following qualifications and skill requirements:
- PADI Dive Instructor certification or equivalent.
- Minimum of 3 to 5 years of experience in dive center or watersports management.
- Valid First Aid, CPR, and Rescue Diver certifications.
- Previous experience working in a resort environment is highly preferred.
- Strong understanding of diving equipment, watersports gear, and boat operations.
- Knowledge of the local marine environment, dive sites, and watersports regulations in the Maldives.
- Excellent leadership, organizational, and communication skills.
