Job Title and Description
Huvafen Fushi Maldives is currently seeking an experienced and visionary Executive Chef to head its F&B Kitchen Department. This role is ideal for someone who thrives in a luxury resort environment and is committed to maintaining excellent standards in food quality, creativity, hygiene, and cost management. The selected candidate will lead all kitchen operations, ensuring that every plate served reflects the resort’s standards and culinary identity.
The Executive Chef will be responsible for developing menus, managing food costs, leading kitchen teams, and maintaining consistent quality in both presentation and flavour. As a strategic member of the leadership team, the Executive Chef will also contribute to revenue development, guest satisfaction, and the resort's long-term culinary vision.
Key Responsibilities
- Ensuring the highest quality levels in kitchen production and food presentation at all times.
- Supervising all kitchen operations, including production, presentation, guest satisfaction, marketing, food costs, sanitation, and hygiene.
- Maintaining the resort’s food cost targets consistently.
- Planning and developing innovative menus using fresh local produce to elevate the guest dining experience.
- Maintaining up-to-date standard recipe files, preparation charts, and menu documentation.
- Demonstrating full knowledge of suppliers, products, ordering processes, and delivery procedures.
- Overseeing ordering, receiving, storage, and stocktaking of all food products to prevent spoilage and contamination.
- Ensuring grooming and presentation standards are followed by kitchen staff.
- Investigating any kitchen-related accidents and implementing corrective actions.
- Developing training plans and conducting hands-on training for all kitchen employees.
General Requirements
Ideal candidates should meet the following criteria:
- A degree in Culinary Arts or a related field from a recognized university is an added advantage.
- 5–8 years of experience in a similar leadership role within a luxury resort environment.
- Proven ability to deliver consistent, high-quality food and service standards.
