Finolhu Maldives is looking for an experienced and passionate Wine Waiter to join its Food & Beverage team. This role is ideal for individuals who possess a deep knowledge of wines, spirits, and food pairing, and who are dedicated to delivering exceptional guest experiences.
As a Wine Waiter, you will be responsible for curating memorable dining experiences by offering professional wine service and recommendations. Key Responsibilities
As a Wine Waiter at Finolhu Maldives, your key responsibilities will include:
- Providing expert wine service to guests in restaurants and bars.
- Recommending wines that complement menu items and guest preferences.
- Ensuring proper storage, presentation, and service of wines and spirits.
- Maintaining an updated wine list and supporting the sommelier in inventory management.
- Educating guests and team members on wine regions, varietals, and pairings.
- Upholding Finolhu’s high standards of service and guest satisfaction.
- Adhering to hygiene and safety standards, including HACCP and LOA guidelines.
Qualifications and Skills Required
To succeed in this role, you should possess the following qualifications and competencies:
- Minimum of 2 years of experience in a similar role within a luxury resort or hotel.
- Completion of WSET Level 2 in Wines or a recognized wine qualification (mandatory).
- Extensive knowledge of wines, spirits, food pairings, and global wine regions.
- Strong understanding of wine, sake, and distilled spirit production methods.
- Passionate about delivering exceptional guest service with attention to detail.
- Excellent English communication skills and the ability to interact with diverse nationalities.
- Team-oriented yet capable of working independently.
- Familiarity with HACCP and LOA standards is an advantage.
