Velaa Private Island Maldives is seeking an experienced and professional Waiter to join our Food & Beverage team. This role is ideal for individuals passionate about providing exceptional service and creating personalized experiences for guests at one of the Maldives’ most prestigious luxury resorts.
As a Waiter at Velaa Private Island, you will be responsible for delivering high-quality food and beverage service in accordance with Velaa’s service standards, ensuring every guest enjoys a memorable and seamless dining experience.
Key Responsibilities
As a Waiter at Velaa Private Island Maldives, your responsibilities will include:
- Provide consistent, high-quality, and personalized food and beverage service to all guests, adhering to resort policies and standards.
- Take orders accurately and efficiently according to Velaa service protocols.
- Coordinate service with colleagues and work as part of a collaborative team.
- Maintain a clean, organized, and safe work area while following HACCP and general hygiene standards.
- Create a welcoming and comforting environment for guests, focusing on personalized and memorable experiences.
- Ensure compliance with Forbes Travel Guide and Leading Quality Assurance standards where applicable.
- Operate the MICROS POS system efficiently and accurately.
Qualifications and Skills Required
To succeed in this role, candidates should have:
- Minimum of 3 years’ experience in food and beverage service at a 5-star luxury hotel or resort.
- Certification in Wine & Spirit Education Trust (WSET) Level 2.
- Excellent interpersonal skills and ability to maintain a professional, pleasant demeanor.
- Fluent command of English (spoken and written); additional languages are an advantage.
- Proactive, attentive to guest needs, calm under pressure, and courteous at all times.
- Familiarity with HACCP standards in food handling and operating the MICROS POS system.
- Previous experience with Leading Quality Assurance and Forbes Travel Guide standards is an advantage.
- Excellent grooming and a charming, welcoming personality.
