Taj Exotica Resort & Spa Maldives is seeking an experienced and results-driven Director of Engineering to lead its Engineering department. This senior management role requires a dynamic professional with extensive technical expertise, leadership skills, and a passion for maintaining world-class standards in a luxury hospitality environment.
The ideal candidate will be responsible for overseeing the resort’s entire engineering and maintenance operations, ensuring the seamless functioning of all mechanical, electrical, and civil systems while upholding the resort’s commitment to safety, efficiency, and sustainability.

Key Responsibilities
As the Director of Engineering, your primary responsibilities will include:
- Overseeing all engineering and maintenance operations across the resort’s facilities and systems.
- Leading a team of engineers and technicians to ensure optimal functionality of electrical, mechanical, plumbing, and HVAC systems.
- Implementing preventive maintenance programs to maximize equipment life and minimize downtime.
- Ensuring compliance with all safety, environmental, and regulatory standards applicable to resort operations.
- Collaborating with management to develop and manage budgets, capital improvement projects, and sustainability initiatives.
- Providing technical guidance and hands-on leadership to achieve operational excellence and cost efficiency.
- Coordinating with other departments to support smooth daily operations and guest satisfaction.
Qualifications and Skills Required
The successful candidate should possess the following qualifications and experience:
- Bachelor’s Degree in Electrical Engineering or a related field.
- 10–12 years of experience in engineering management, preferably in a five-star luxury resort environment.
- Strong leadership and organizational abilities, with proven success in managing multidisciplinary teams.
- In-depth technical knowledge of resort infrastructure, energy systems, and sustainable maintenance practices.
- Excellent communication and decision-making skills with a proactive approach to problem-solving.
- Ability to work effectively under pressure while maintaining high standards of safety and quality.
