Finolhu Maldives is seeking a skilled and experienced Assistant Chief Engineer to join its world-class Engineering team. The Assistant Chief Engineer will support the Chief Engineer in overseeing all technical, mechanical, and electrical systems across the resort. Key Responsibilities
As an Assistant Chief Engineer at Finolhu Maldives, your primary responsibilities will include:
- Supervising and coordinating all maintenance activities across electrical, mechanical, plumbing, HVAC, refrigeration, and civil systems.
- Ensuring the reliable operation and maintenance of all utility systems including Generators, RO Plant, STP, Chillers, Boilers, Fire Systems, Solar Plants, and BMS.
- Supporting the Chief Engineer in planning and executing preventive maintenance schedules and energy-saving initiatives.
- Overseeing generator operations and maintenance, particularly Mitsubishi and Cummins systems.
- Implementing and monitoring sustainability projects to improve efficiency and reduce the resort’s environmental footprint.
- Providing leadership, training, and guidance to the Engineering team to ensure operational excellence.
- Maintaining accurate maintenance records, reports, and documentation.
- Collaborating with other departments to ensure minimal disruption to guest experiences during maintenance work.
Qualifications and Skills Required
To excel in this role, candidates should meet the following criteria:
- Minimum of 10 years of experience in Engineering or Maintenance, including at least 3–4 years in a supervisory or Assistant Chief Engineer role.
- Diploma or Degree in Mechanical Engineering or a related technical discipline.
- Hands-on experience in generator operations and maintenance (Mitsubishi, Cummins).
- Strong knowledge of HVAC, RO/Desalination, STP, Fire Systems, Solar Power, and BMS systems.
- Proven ability to manage large-scale technical operations and supervise multi-disciplinary teams.
- Experience supporting sustainability initiatives and energy conservation projects.
- Proficiency in MS Office; knowledge of AutoCAD and CMMS is an advantage.
- Excellent administrative, operational, and interpersonal communication skills.
- Positive attitude, self-motivated, and results-oriented mindset.
- Prior experience working in the Maldives or other remote island locations is highly desirable.
