Job Title and Description

Position: Executive Sous Chef
Location: OBLU XPERIENCE Ailafushi

We are seeking a skilled and motivated Executive Sous Chef to join our culinary team. This role is ideal for experienced chefs with strong leadership skills and a passion for delivering exceptional dining experiences in a luxury resort environment.

The Executive Sous Chef will oversee kitchen operations, support the Executive Chef in menu planning, and ensure the highest quality standards in food preparation and presentation.

Key Responsibilities

  • Assist the Executive Chef in planning, developing, and executing menus that meet quality standards.
  • Oversee daily kitchen operations and ensure compliance with hygiene and food safety standards (HACCP certified).
  • Monitor food preparation, portion control, and presentation to maintain consistency and high quality.
  • Manage kitchen staff, including training, scheduling, and performance evaluations.
  • Control kitchen costs, budgeting, and inventory management.
  • Coordinate with other departments to ensure smooth service and guest satisfaction.
  • Maintain accurate records and reports using MS Office tools as required.

Qualifications and Skills Required

  • Minimum 10 years of experience in hotels and resorts, including at least 4 years in a managerial role.
  • Previous experience working in a Maldivian resort environment is highly preferred.
  • Diploma or degree-level qualification in the culinary field.
  • HACCP certification and thorough knowledge of food safety standards.
  • Strong leadership, organizational, and multitasking skills in a fast-paced environment.
  • Excellent cooking and food preparation skills, with attention to detail.
  • Extensive knowledge of kitchen operations, including costing, menu planning, quality control, staff training, and budgeting.
  • Proficiency in MS Office and strong administrative skills.
  • Excellent written and spoken communication skills.
