Job Opportunity: Specialty Chef – Sushi & Teppanyaki

Kuramathi Maldives is currently seeking a passionate and skilled Specialty Chef – Sushi & Teppanyaki to join our distinguished culinary team. Key Responsibilities

As the Specialty Chef – Sushi & Teppanyaki, your primary duties will include:

Preparing authentic sushi and teppanyaki dishes using traditional and modern techniques.
Crafting visually stunning plates with emphasis on flavor, freshness, and aesthetics.
Developing creative Japanese menu items tailored to guest preferences.
Maintaining the highest standards of food hygiene, kitchen cleanliness, and safety practices.
Collaborating with the Executive Chef and kitchen team to deliver memorable dining experiences.
Training junior chefs and kitchen staff on Japanese culinary methods and presentation styles.
Managing inventory and ensuring quality control of all ingredients used.

Qualifications and Skills Required

We are looking for candidates who meet the following criteria:

Proven experience as a Sushi Chef or Teppanyaki Chef in a reputable hotel or luxury resort.
Culinary school diploma or equivalent professional experience in Japanese cuisine.
Deep knowledge of sushi and teppanyaki preparation techniques, ingredients, and tools.
Strong understanding of food safety standards and kitchen best practices.
Exceptional knife skills and precision in food preparation.
Creativity in developing new dishes and innovative presentations.
Ability to perform under pressure in a fast-paced kitchen environment.
A portfolio of your culinary creations must be submitted as part of your application.
