TMA Named World’s Leading Seaplane Operator 2024

Trans Maldivian Airways (TMA) has been crowned the World’s Leading Seaplane Operator 2024 at the 31st Annual World Travel Awards, held on November 24 in Portugal. This marks yet another significant milestone for TMA, which also secured the title of Indian Ocean’s Leading Seaplane Operator for the 10th consecutive year.

A Decade of Excellence

Established in 1993, TMA boasts the world’s largest seaplane fleet, comprising 65 DHC-6 Twin Otters, including 13 resort-branded aircraft and two VIP-configured planes. The airline connects travelers to over 80 luxury resorts across 16 atolls, operating more than 400 daily flights.

TMA’s extensive network plays a pivotal role in cementing the Maldives’ reputation as a top-tier travel destination, directly supporting the tourism industry’s growth and international prestige.
