JOALI BEING Bodufushi is currently seeking a talented and passionate Commis to join its culinary team in the Maldives. Key Responsibilities
The Commis will support the culinary team in maintaining the highest standards of food preparation, presentation, and guest satisfaction across the resort’s dining venues.
- Assist in the preparation and presentation of high-quality dishes according to resort standards.
- Support senior chefs in daily kitchen operations and food production activities.
- Ensure compliance with food hygiene, sanitation, and Health and Safety regulations at all times.
- Maintain cleanliness and organization within the kitchen and food preparation areas.
- Assist in preparing wellness-focused and plant-based cuisine offerings for guests.
- Work collaboratively with team members to deliver exceptional culinary experiences.
- Monitor food quality, freshness, and proper storage procedures.
- Adapt to changing operational needs in a fast-paced luxury hospitality environment.
- Support special wellness retreats, themed dining experiences, and guest events when required.
- Maintain professional communication with colleagues from diverse cultural backgrounds.
Qualifications and Skills Required
JOALI BEING is looking for highly motivated and passionate individuals who are dedicated to delivering memorable guest experiences and maintaining exceptional culinary standards.
- Minimum 2 years of related work experience in a five-star luxury property.
- Experience and knowledge in plant-based cuisine is preferred.
- Chinese cuisine experience and Chinese-speaking ability will be considered an added advantage.
- Experience working in wellness retreats is highly desirable.
- Previous experience working in remote island resorts is preferred.
- Good command of spoken and written English.
- Strong understanding of food hygiene and Health and Safety standards.
- Excellent teamwork, communication, and interpersonal skills.
- Outgoing personality with the ability to adapt and interact with diverse groups of people.
- Self-managed individual with strong problem-solving skills and adaptability.
