JOALI BEING Maldives is seeking a talented and passionate Wine Sommelier to join its Food & Beverage Service Department. Key Responsibilities
As a Wine Sommelier at JOALI BEING Maldives, your responsibilities will include:
- Curating and managing the resort’s extensive wine selection to complement the culinary offerings.
- Providing expert wine recommendations and pairings to enhance the dining experience for guests.
- Conducting wine tastings, educational sessions, and special events to engage guests and elevate their knowledge.
- Maintaining optimal stock levels, inventory control, and proper storage of wines and beverages.
- Collaborating closely with chefs, restaurant managers, and service teams to ensure seamless dining experiences.
- Training and mentoring F&B team members on wine service, pairing techniques, and product knowledge.
- Ensuring compliance with resort standards, hygiene practices, and safety protocols at all times.
Qualifications and Skills Required
To excel in this role, you should possess the following qualifications and attributes:
- Minimum of 2 years of experience as a Sommelier or similar role in a luxury resort environment.
- Strong knowledge of international wines, vineyards, and food pairings.
- WSET Level 2 certification (or higher) is required.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Fluent in English; additional language skills are an advantage.
- Energetic, outgoing personality with a guest-focused mindset.
- Ability to multitask and handle high-pressure situations with professionalism.
- Passion for hospitality, fine dining, and promoting a healthy, balanced lifestyle.
