JOALI BEING is seeking a dedicated and passionate Commis to join its exceptional Food & Beverage Production team. This is an exciting opportunity for culinary professionals who take pride in their craft and are eager to contribute to a world-class wellbeing retreat.
The successful candidate will assist in the preparation and presentation of high-quality dishes, supporting senior chefs in maintaining the resort’s elevated culinary standards. Key Responsibilities
As a Commis at JOALI BEING, your responsibilities will include:
- Assist in the preparation, cooking, and presentation of dishes in accordance with resort standards.
- Support senior chefs in maintaining the highest standards of food hygiene and safety.
- Ensure compliance with all Health and Safety and food hygiene regulations.
- Demonstrate knowledge and skill in hot kitchen operations and culinary techniques.
- Maintain a clean, organized, and efficient workstation at all times.
- Contribute to menu development and presentation ideas where applicable.
- Collaborate with the culinary team to ensure consistency and quality across all dining experiences.
Qualifications and Skills Required
To excel in this position, you should possess the following qualifications and attributes:
- Minimum of 2 years of experience in a similar role within a five-star luxury property.
- Strong foundation in hot kitchen operations and culinary preparation.
- Good command of spoken and written English.
- Experience working in a wellness retreat or remote island environment is an advantage.
- Outgoing personality, team player, and self-motivated professional attitude.
- Adaptability, resilience, and the ability to multitask in a fast-paced environment.
- Excellent problem-solving and time management skills.
- Passion for healthy living, creativity, and continuous learning in the culinary arts.
