The awards, organized by NSURE, a leading authority in Food Safety, Health and Safety, and Sustainability, honor exceptional achievements in these areas within the hospitality industry.
Celebrating Excellence in Food Safety and Sustainability
At the prestigious awards ceremony, Atmosphere Core received the Outstanding Overall Performance Award for Resort Group 2023-2024, recognizing the company’s unwavering commitment to maintaining the highest food safety standards. The award highlights the collective efforts across its nine resorts, which have become benchmarks in the industry for excellence in food safety. Anupam Banerjee, the Vice President of Food & Beverage at Atmosphere Core, graciously accepted the award on behalf of the team, emphasizing their dedication to ensuring top-tier food safety practices at all of their properties.
Innovation in Sustainability: OBLU SELECT Sangeli's Contribution
OBLU SELECT Sangeli, one of Atmosphere Core’s standout resorts, received the Innovative Sustainability Project Award for 2023-2024. This award is a testament to the resort’s commitment to preserving the Maldives’ unique ecosystem through sustainable practices. Marine Biologist Giorgia Maggioni and Executive Assistant Manager Sribanta Kumar Acharya were present to accept the award, showcasing the resort’s dedication to environmentally friendly projects that benefit both guests and the community.
Recognizing Individual Excellence in Food Safety
The awards also highlighted the efforts of individuals who have made notable contributions to food safety and sustainability within the Atmosphere Core family. Sourish Bishnu Jana, Learning and Development Manager at Atmosphere Kanifushi, was recognized with the Outstanding Commitment by an L&D Manager in Food Safety award. His leadership in food safety training has been crucial in ensuring that high standards are upheld across the resort.
Mei P. Pun, the General Manager at VARU by Atmosphere, was honored as the 1st Runner-up for Outstanding Leadership by a General Manager in Food Safety. In addition, Ravikant Reddy from VARU by Atmosphere and Chef Chaitanya Sharma from OZEN RESERVE BOLIFUSHI received accolades for their exceptional leadership and commitment to food safety.
In addition to the winners, four other nominees from Atmosphere Core were recognized for their outstanding contributions. Chef Sandeep Kumar from OBLU SELECT Sangeli and Chef Ajay Sahoo from OBLU NATURE Helengeli by SENTIDO were nominated for the Exceptional Leadership by an Executive Chef in Food Safety award. Baiju Asokan from OBLU SELECT Sangeli and Rahul Pillai from VARU by Atmosphere were also nominated for the Outstanding Leadership in Engineering for Safety Excellence award.
