Position: Director of Rooms
Kurumba Maldives is seeking an experienced and dynamic Director of Rooms to lead and oversee the Front Office and Housekeeping divisions. This senior leadership role is ideal for a passionate hospitality professional who thrives in a fast-paced island environment and is committed to delivering exceptional guest satisfaction.
As Director of Rooms, you will play a key role in shaping the overall guest journey, ensuring operational excellence across all room-related services. You will be responsible for strategic planning, financial performance, service standards, and team development. Key Responsibilities
- Oversee the daily operations of the Front Office and Housekeeping teams to ensure smooth and efficient service delivery.
- Develop and implement strategic plans to enhance operational performance and guest engagement.
- Prepare, manage, and monitor departmental budgets, labor costs, and inventory control.
- Analyze financial statements and performance reports to drive revenue growth and cost efficiency.
- Ensure all guest rooms and public areas meet the highest standards of cleanliness, presentation, and maintenance.
- Monitor guest feedback and online reviews, implementing improvement strategies where necessary.
- Resolve guest concerns promptly and professionally to maintain exceptional satisfaction levels.
- Lead, train, and develop team members in a positive, performance-driven environment.
- Collaborate with other departments to support seamless resort-wide operations and enhance the overall guest experience.
- Implement policies and procedures that promote operational efficiency and consistent service excellence.
Qualifications and Skills Required
- Bachelor’s degree in Hospitality Management or a related field is preferred.
- Minimum of 5 years of hotel management experience, with at least 2 years in a leadership role within the Rooms Division.
- Strong leadership skills with the ability to motivate and guide multicultural teams.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal abilities.
- Proven problem-solving skills and the capacity to make sound operational decisions.
- Knowledge of Property Management Systems (PMS), such as Opera.
- Strong understanding of budgeting, financial analysis, and cost control.
- Passion for delivering guest-focused service and maintaining high service standards.
