Velassaru Maldives is seeking a highly skilled and passionate Sous Chef (Chinese) to join our distinguished kitchen brigade. As a senior member of the Food & Beverage Production Department, you will play a pivotal role in leading operations, maintaining culinary excellence, and ensuring that the highest standards of food quality and service are consistently delivered.

Key Responsibilities
As a Sous Chef (Chinese) at Velassaru Maldives, your responsibilities will include:
- Ensuring day-to-day productivity of all kitchen employees and full completion of rostered shifts.
- Planning, implementing, monitoring, and improving safe and hygienic kitchen operations for both guests and employees.
- Maintaining all kitchen equipment in your area in proper working condition.
- Identifying training needs and taking responsibility for the development and training of the kitchen team.
- Attending training programs for your own professional growth as requested.
- Maintaining an up-to-date standard recipe file, including menus, recipe cards, and preparation charts.
- Assisting with the ordering, receiving, and checking of food items to ensure requested quality and quantity are delivered.
Qualifications and Skills Required
To be considered for this position, candidates should meet the following criteria:
- Minimum of 2 years of experience in a similar role within a five-star luxury resort.
- Fluent communication skills in both verbal and written English.
- Proven expertise in Chinese cuisine and passion for culinary excellence.
- Hardworking, with a positive attitude and pleasant personality.
- Ability to work extended hours when required and manage a fast-paced kitchen environment.
- Leadership skills to motivate and mentor team members effectively.
