Emerald Faarufushi Resort & Spa is seeking a talented, energetic, and highly motivated Junior Sous Chef - Pastry to join our professional Kitchen team. Key Responsibilities
As a Junior Sous Chef - Pastry at Emerald Faarufushi, your responsibilities will include:
- Assisting the Head Pastry Chef in preparing high-quality pastries, desserts, and baked goods according to established recipes and standards.
- Ensuring all food is prepared in compliance with hygiene, safety, and quality standards.
- Supervising and guiding junior kitchen staff to maintain efficiency and consistency.
- Collaborating with the culinary team to create innovative dessert menus and seasonal specialties.
- Maintaining inventory, managing kitchen supplies, and reducing waste through efficient practices.
- Adhering to Luxury Quality Assurance (LQA) standards to consistently deliver exceptional guest experiences.
- Assisting in training and mentoring new staff within the pastry department.
Qualifications and Skills Required
Candidates for this role should meet the following criteria:
- Minimum of 2 years of experience in the same position within a luxury resort or high-end culinary environment.
- Excellent command of written and spoken English.
- Knowledge of LQA standards is an advantage.
- Strong ability to multitask and perform under pressure while maintaining high-quality standards.
