Meeru Maldives Resort Island is seeking a motivated and skilled Commis to join its talented culinary team. This role is ideal for individuals who are passionate about the art of cooking, enjoy working in a fast-paced kitchen, and are committed to maintaining the highest standards of food preparation and presentation.
As a Commis, you will assist senior chefs in day-to-day kitchen operations, ensure strict hygiene compliance, and contribute to the creation of exceptional dining experiences for guests. Key Responsibilities
As a Commis at Meeru Maldives Resort Island, your responsibilities will include:
- Assisting the Demi Chef de Partie with daily kitchen tasks as assigned.
- Ensuring cleanliness and hygiene in all food preparation areas, in compliance with HACCP standards.
- Supporting preparation and cooking across hot kitchen and specialty sections, including Japanese cuisine.
- Maintaining quality, consistency, and presentation of food items prepared.
- Following all kitchen safety protocols and resort standards at all times.
Qualifications and Skills Required
The ideal candidate for this position should meet the following requirements:
- Any combination of education, training, or experience that provides the required culinary knowledge and skills.
- At least 3 years of previous experience in hot kitchen or Japanese cuisine is preferred.
- Basic Food Safety certification is an advantage.
- First Aid training is preferred.
- Strong teamwork and communication skills.
- Passion for the culinary arts and a commitment to high-quality guest service.
