Position: Chief Engineer
We are seeking a seasoned and dynamic Chief Engineer to oversee the full spectrum of engineering and facilities management at LUX* South Ari Atoll. In this luxury resort job, you will be a key leadership figure ensuring that all infrastructure, utilities, and maintenance services support the highest standards of guest comfort and operational excellence.
This role demands a proactive, solution-oriented professional with a strong background in remote resort operations. The ideal candidate is someone who thrives in a collaborative environment, takes pride in creating seamless guest experiences, and brings innovation to daily operational challenges.
Key Responsibilities
As Chief Engineer, your duties will include but are not limited to:

Leading the engineering department and ensuring all systems function optimally across the resort.

Coordinating with all operational departments to uphold and enhance maintenance and safety standards.

Overseeing utility operations, including electricity, water, air-conditioning, and waste management.

Developing and implementing preventive maintenance plans.

Managing a diverse team of technical staff and conducting regular training to ensure high performance.

Monitoring energy consumption and promoting sustainable practices in line with resort goals.

Liaising with suppliers and contractors to ensure timely service and equipment procurement.

Providing strategic input to the senior leadership team on infrastructure improvements.
Qualifications and Skills Required
To be successful in this role, candidates should meet the following criteria:

Minimum 4–5 years of experience as an Assistant Chief Engineer or in a similar leadership role within a luxury resort setting.

Proven track record in engineering and facilities management, preferably in remote resort locations.

Prior work experience in a Maldives resort is highly desirable.

Strong leadership and people management skills, with the ability to motivate and guide a multi-generational team.

Demonstrated expertise in utility management, operations, and execution.
