Nominations Now Open for 2024 Maldives Tourism Awards

The Maldives Ministry of Tourism has opened nominations for the 2024 Maldives Tourism Awards, an annual celebration honouring exceptional service and quality commitment within the Maldivian tourism industry. Originally launched in 2022, the awards have become a prestigious recognition for resorts, hotels, guesthouses, safari vessels, and travel agencies across the Maldives.

Spotlight on Excellence in Maldivian Tourism

The awards are designed to spotlight establishments and professionals who consistently elevate tourism standards by embracing best practices, innovation, and service excellence. This year’s awards will cover contributions made from June 1, 2023, through May 31, 2024, across 23 categories under five major sections.

Who Can Apply for the 2024 Maldives Tourism Awards?

The 2024 Maldives Tourism Awards welcomes applications from a wide range of tourism-related entities, including:

  • Resorts
  • Hotels
  • Guesthouses
  • Safari vessels
  • Travel agencies

Each of these groups plays a vital role in offering unique Maldivian experiences to tourists and has the opportunity to gain national recognition. Establishments are encouraged to showcase their innovations, contributions to sustainable tourism, and exceptional service standards.

How to Submit an Application

To participate, eligible establishments can submit their nominations online. The deadline for applications is Thursday, November 14, 2024, by 14:00 hrs.

Recap of the 2023 Maldives Tourism Awards

Last year’s Maldives Tourism Awards saw enthusiastic participation, with 225 applications submitted by 88 establishments. Ultimately, 31 awards were granted across 59 categories, underscoring the sector’s commitment to quality and improvement. The Ministry of Tourism hopes to build on this momentum for 2024, continuing to shine a spotlight on those who make the Maldives an outstanding destination.
